Periapical X-ray
A periapical X-ray is the most common type of intraoral imaging in dentistry. It covers one, two, or three teeth along with the root and surrounding bone, making it ideal for precise diagnostics. It is particularly useful in the following situations:

Differences between intraoral X-ray, panoramic X-ray (OPG), and CBCT

An orthopantomogram (OPG) gives a broader image of the entire jaw, but with less detail per individual tooth.
